On the Translator's Subjectivity: A Philosophical Perspective

The paper is intended for a philosophical study on the translator's subjectivity by resorting to relevant modern theoretical views. The historicality of understanding of hermeneutics offers a reasonable explanation for the creativity trait of translation,and the horizon-of-expectation of readers determines the translator's option for translation strategies, both of which reflect philosophically the subjectivity of translator to the full in translation study;but the abuse of subjectivity by the translator will lead to mistranslation undoubtedly,the translator's subjectivity,therefore,should be subject to a norm of inter-subjectivity in an equal dialogue with the other subjects involved in translation.
