Abstract

Migration of chemical compositions in vadose water infiltration of different depths is examined in this paper by using the multifunction shaft in a typical area of the North China Plain. The chloride mass balance method is used to analyze the mechanism of changes in chemical compositions in the vadose water of different depths. The results show that(1) the vadose water infiltration can lead to changes in concentrations of chemical compositions in the vadose water of different depths;(2) the sticky soil can prevent the vadose water from migrating downward, but the vadose water is allowed to migrate downward through itself under certain conditions. At the same time, the chemical compositions in the vadose water migrate downward with the water;(3) mixture of chemical compositions occure while the water migrates downward in the vadose zone.
