Abstract
The land utilization in Qidong County of Jiangsu Province is of following characteristics:higher utilization rate, diversified utilization pattern, scattered distribution of rural residential areas. In general, the land resources are rich in this county and have potentials for further arrangement and exploitation.By analyzing the land resources for the future utilization,it is pointed out that the factors limiting the land utilization are the increase in the population, the in-balanced development in economy in different parts, the conflict in the maintenance and utilization of land resources, the great difficulty in the reclaim of land from beaches. The strategies and effective measures for the sustainable use of the land resources have therefore been proposed.
