Abstract

Objective To explore the culture conditions of human neural stem cells from embryonic brain. Methods The cells were derived from the sixteen-week embryonic brain di gested by trypsin, and cultured in serum free medium with EGF and bFGF.The differention of cells was induced by culture with serum.Nestin antigen and NSE were detected by immunofluo rescence test. Results Human neural stem cells from fresh embryonic brain at16-week were iso lated successfully, and passaged continuously. The cells expressed Nestin antigen which was the marker for the neural stem cells, and the cells induced by serum expressed(NSE)neuron specific enolase markers for neuron. Conclusion Human neural stem cells from embryonic brain can be isolated and cultured in vitro.
