Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of Caspase-1mRNA in newborn rats with hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD). Methods A model of HIBD in left brain of seven-day-old Wistar rats was made and the expression of Caspase-1mRNA was measured in cortex at different time points by the reverse-transcription PCR. Microscopical changes were observed. Results Expression of Caspase-1 mRNA in neonatal rats with HIBD increased and reached the highest at HIBD q6h, having a significant difference compared with other groups (P0.05 ).Conclusion HIBD leads to expression of Caspase-1mRNA and Caspase-1 might contribute to occurrence of HIBD in neonates.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
