Abstract
Yu Dafu is a poet who pursues all his life, and such an individual psychology of his is shown from three aspects: his pursuit of artistic beauty; his favoritism towards female and his indulgence in natural beauty. Yu Dafu' s pursuit of artistic is a kind of compensation for and transcendence of the inferiority complex, solitude and melancholia formed in early life. Such a pursuit not only made him take beauty as the creative standard, but also prompted him to pursue beauty everywhere at any time in his life: his favoritism towards female manifests his pursuit for poetic females, while his indulgence in natural landscape is the generalization of his aesthetic pursuit in his life.
