Abstract
The result of remote sensing survey in 2000 showed that the soil erosion area in south Fujian was 3977. 94 km2, which occupied 15. 61% of total land area; the soil erosion in dry farmland was the most serious; secondly for grassland, which soil erosion occured mainly in low coverage of upper soil; though the ratio of soil erosion in woodland was the lowest, the total area of soil erosion was the largest. The reformation of sloping arable land and the resumption of vegetation should be strengthened.
