Study on Mean Sea Level Model Establishment

To start with the definition of mean sea level,the present methods and principles for estimating the mean sea level respectively by means of the tide gauge data and the satellite altimetric data are introduced.Then the characteristics and problems respectively corresponding to the two methods are expounded and compared with each other.Finally a better method is proposed.In this method,the long-term data from tide gauges distributed along the coast are used as the governing data to revise the mean sea level model with high resolution and precision,in which the satellite altimetric grids is utilized,and to directly determine the relation between the mean sea level and the geodetic coordinates.
