Reflection on Alternative Philosophy of Science

A prominent phenomena in contemporary philosophy of science has been the unexpected uprising of alternative philosophy of science.This thesis analyzes in depth such alternative philosophies of science by Paul Feyerabend,Richard Rorty,and Michel Foucult,summarizing the similarities and comparing the differences between alternative philosophy of science and traditional philosophy of science,so as to unveil the development trends of contemporary philosophy of science.It is viewed that with different theme and foundation,alternative philosophy of science has made break-through in scope and research methodology,and its relation with science has shifted to be humanism-oriented,with more diversities presented.Attention should be given to alternative perceptions in contemporary philosophy of science,and research can be expanded to fields of epistemology of science and cognitive science,of sociology of science knowledge and science anthropology,of philosophy of science culture,as well as science ethics.
