Compare the correlation between stereometric parameters of optic disc and visual defects in primary open-angle glaucoma

Objectives To investigate the differences and similarities of stereometric parameters of optic disc be- tween the primary open-angle glaucoma patients (POAG) with the glaucomatous visual field (VF) defect and without VF de- feet,and the relativity between the stereometric parameters of optic disc and mean defect (MD) in visual field.Methods 50 eyes of 29 cases of POAG were examined with HRT and G2 program of Octopus 101 Perimeter.The optic disc parame- ters between the POAG patients with the glaucomatous visual field (VF) defect and without VF defect were compared,The Results Were analyzed for T-test;The optic disc parameters of the POAG patients with the glaucomatous VF defect were analyzed for the correlation with mean defect in visual field.Results There were remarkable differences in optic disc param- eters except for DA,HVC between the POAG patients with the glaucomatous visual field (VF) defect and without VF defect (P0.01).The stereometric parameters of optic disc of the POAG patients with the glaucomatous VF defect were ana- lyzed for simple correlation with MD of visual field,RA was most obviously significant relationship with MD(r=0.65,P =0.001).Conclusion The optic disc parameters were examined by HRT can well reflect the optic disc damage that were consistent with the glaucomatous VF defect.In all of the optic disc parameters of HRT,RA can reflect the glaucomatous visual field loss best.
