Abstract
Objective To explore the feasibility, technical features and research significance of magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)of normal canine spinal cord. Methods Eight beagle dogs were anesthetized with Sumianxin, then their spinal cord diffusion imaging was performed immediately.Siemens sonata1.5T MRI System was used to scan with different parameters on the basis of echo-planar imaging(EPI).The image characteristics was analyzed and compared among these dogs, and their average apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)was calculated. Results With 3mm of slice thickness, singly stimulated SE-EPI diffusion sequence obtained a better cervical spinal cord DWI.Cervical spinal cord had obvious anisotropy, diffusion gradient parallel to the white matter fiber received a higher ADC value. The average ADC value of the cervical spinal cord sagittal imaging was(109.6±6.8)×10-3 mm2/s.Conclusions 1.5T MRI system can scan magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI) of canine cervical spinal cord.Exploring the characteristics of the normal canine spinal cord imaging can guide canine spinal cord tests.
