Abstract
This paper introduces the penalty function method from the interior point method,external point method,mis method.Then optimal design from the three methods for the rectangular section steel concrete simply supported beam,and comparing the results of the optimal design methods on the penalty function method.From the comparison,it gets the suitable method for optimal design.
