Abstract
Objective To study the value of the preventive tracheotomy on the patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome,OSAHS. Methods Twenty-three patients performed preventive tracheotomy before uvulopalatopharyngoplasty,UPPP were analyzed. Results Two cases got temporary regurgitation and one case got cutaneous emphysema after U PPP.Eight days to ten days after UPPP,all the patients were decannulated favorably.Twenty patients obtained satisfactory therapeutic effects, and three patients obtained general therapeutic effects. Conclusion The preventive tracheotomy on the patients with OSAHS can effectively and reliably make safety of UPPPand avoid lethal complication.
