The female is an eternal theme of human painting arts.In the primitive times, images of nude female in paintings were the products of reproductive and totem worship. In the class society, female images in paintings were the reflections of male centralism. The emergence and development of traditional Chinese paintings of beautiful women in China and the naked female paintings in the West embodied the same characteristics of human society.Due to the differences of social formations, geographical environments, moral ethics, religious thoughts, aesthetical concepts and local customs between China and the West, traditional paintings of beautiful women in China and the paintings of naked female in the West show different characteristics in their contents and forms.
