Abstract

Air injection has been proven to be an effective technique for EOR.In particular, low temperature oxidation (LTO) process of airinjection can be both applied to waterflooded reservoirfortertiary oil recovery and to low permeable reservoir for secondary oil recovery, and also can be applied to maintaining formation pressure with water flooding and to driving oil by gravitation stabilization. In this dissertation, the reservoir selection guidelines for air injection are discussed, and the methods of reservoir simulation of air injection LTO process using conventional reservoir simulation software are described. The influencing factors of air-injection,such as reservoir pressure, reservoir temperature, the rate of air-injection,have been studied, and the feasibility of the technique forlight oil reservoirs is reviewed.
