Abstract
Yichang city is one of the few flood undefended cities along the middle and lower Yangtze River,the situation of flooding is quite severe because of its geological and topographic conditions and influence of river erosion,groundwater and human activites.Once the level of the Yangtze River exceeds 52.50m(Huanghai Datum),the city will be threatened by flood and waterlogging.We analyze the types of river bank failure and the factors affecting bank slope stability,and put forward treatment suggestions for the purpose of people foremost and harmony of human and water and with the combination of bank regulation and urban landscape.
