Abstract

Objective:to investigate the effect of Orthokeratology(Ortho-K for short) rectifying myopia and long-term effect of controlling the development of myopia. Methods: Children had been observed with Ortho-K lasting above 6 years,200 patients(386 eyes),whose average age was 14.3,bare vision was 0.31±0.21 before wearing Ortho-K,dioptre is-3.81±2.78D;corneal curvature is 44.51±3.53;time of BUT is 18.28±8.14 s;numbers of endothelium is 2 859±851;and the central thickness is 544±68 μm.Results:No serious complication happened on people, whose dioptre and corneal curvature was reduced obviously, and patients'vision was promoted dictinctly, and the time of BUT and ocular pressure decreased obviousely, and the bumbers of corneal endothelium and corneal central thickness did not change evidently. Conclusions: Ortho-K as a non-traumatic way of rectifying myopia, can reduce dioptre and control the development of myopia effectively.
