Abstract
A method of extracting transient features of non-stationary signal was proposed based on the combination of orthogonal empirical mode decomposition (OEMD) and Hilbert transform.Obtaining the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) by use of OEMD,the instantaneous frequency and amplitude can be calculated by the Hilbert transform,so that the time, frequency and amplitude of transient component in the signal can be detected accurately.Simulations and appli- cations show that by the method the transient features of signal can be extracted more effectively than by original Hilbert- Huang transform(HHT),and such problems existing in original HHT method as mode aliasing, fault mode and end effect can be solved.
