Abstract

Calibration blackbody is the important part of infrared scanner, its performance will affect the quality of infrared imaging.A case that light-and-shade stripes appearing periodically in the thermal infrared image of sea surface is described. And then effect of calibration blackbody temperature stability on the infrared imaging is analyzed. The cause of this phenomenon is that the blackbody temperature vibrates periodically.A normal method to eliminate these stripes is presented. And then a new method based on a stable reference source is presented and validated. And the two methods are compared. The result shows that it is better to turn off blackbody controller when it is very difficult to control blackbody temperature precision, and it is of significance for remote sensing application of infrared scanner.
