On the Meaning of "Regarding Poetry as Ci" by Su Shi

The development of Song Ci in the latter part of the Northern Song Dynasty reflected the trend of moving closer to poetry,and Su Shi has completely broken the boundaries between poetry and Ci-poetry:the mergence of poetry and Ci-poetry on the theme was realized;the boundary of poetry and Ci-poetry on style was disappearing gradually,and the relation of text and music was separating gradually.There was a transformation from amusement to express aspirations in function.Ci-poetry was equated with poetry gradually in terms of creational conception,and it futher drew lessons from the field of poetry.The contents mentioned above are the main contents of Su Shi's concept of Poetry as Ci.The tendency of Ci-poetry toward poetry after Su Shi has been more and more obvious,and the created pattern of Regarding Poetry as Ci has been accepted gradually by Ci writer at that time and afterwards.
