Abstract

In order to know the relation between peracetic acid content and the concentration of its productive raw material hydrogen peroxide, the peracetic acid products produced by the factories were examined selectively and analyzed. The results indicated that the content and stability of peracetic acid were closely related to the concentration of raw material hydrogen peroxide. The higher the concentration of hydrogen peroxide, the higher the content of peracetic acid and the more stable the peracetic acid and the shorter the time required for reaction after mixing. For preparing acetic acid for immediate use, the hydrogen peroxide at a concentration of 275 g/L can be selected as the productive raw material and the peracetic acid produced with 350~500 g/L hydrogen peroxide as the raw material can be kept for longer time.
