Abstract
Based on the different conductivities of liquid phase and gas phase, the length of liquid slug and(elongated bubble) were obtained.By statistical means, the liquid slug length distribution was studied along the(vertical) pipe at different gas and liquid superficial velocities. The result has a good agreement with Miller′s(lognormal) distribution. The changes of different gas and liquid superficial velocities have little influence on the (liquid) length distribution. In addition, the relation between the translational velocity of Taylor bubble and the length of liquid slug ahead of it was demonstrated. The correlation can be clearly depicted by the equation R.van Hout.
