Abstract
The pollen tube growth after Brunello×L. davidii Duchartre. and L. lancifolium Thunb. self-crossing was observed through the microscope, and the reason of compatibility or incompatibility after crossing and selfing in Lilium was analyzed. For the cross combination Brunello L. davidii Duchartre., the phenomena of large quantity germination of pollen and the extension of a bunch of pollen tube to the ovary was observed, and the length of pollen tube was about 1.5 cm after pollination for 48 h. After L. lancifolium Thunb. selfing, the pollen germinated later and the amount of germination was fewer, the phenomena of the cease of pollen tube growth was observed after pollination for 48 h.
