Studies on comprehensive ecosystem assessment methods of sea islands

The indices and methods of comprehensive ecosystem assessment of sea islands are discussed in terms of two aspects: ecological status and ecosystem service functions.Island ecological status assessment included island landscape and ecosystems analysis,the former analyzed the change of island landscape configuration quantitatively from macroscopical point of view by 3S technology;the latter,including biological and abiological environment,assessed ecological status of island continent,intertidal and neritic regions by means of comparing historical status and environmental quality critera.Island ecological functions are assessed from the aspects of production,regulation,support and culture functions.This article aims to put forward a basic framework of integrated assessment method on island ecosystem,and provided the foundations for island ecosystem management.
