The butterfly biodiversity in Baiyunshan Nature Reserve

Abstract

A preliminary investigation on butterflies in Baiyunshan Nature Reserve in Baojing County of Hunan Province was implemented.And the butterfly biodiversity in this area were analyzed with Margalef's index(d),Menhinick's index(ds),Shannon-Wiener biodiversity index(H′) and Pielou evenness index(J′).The results showed that there were 51 species of butterfly,belonging to 8 families and 37genera in Baiyunshan Nature Reserve.Species were arranged from more to less that NymphalidaePapilionidae=Satyridae=HesperiidaePieridaeLycaenidaeDanaidae=Libytheidae.The species richness index in Nymphalidae was the highest(2.065),while the lowest(0.378) in Libytheidae.It showed the butterfly biodiversity in different ways with species richness index(8.797),biodiversity index(2.912) and evenness index(8.640).
