Abstract

Tuberculosis cases registered in temporary residents in Beijing has been yearly increased since 1993. The number of cases of tuberculosis registered in 1996 were 2.6 times as many as that of 1993. There were 1 881 cases registered from 1993 to 1996 in temporary residents coming from high prevalence provinces in China, and, mostly were males and 15~35 years old. Only 73.2% of 786 bacteriologically confirmed cases received chemotherapy. The case holding was very difficult and the cure rate was very low.
