Status and Key Technologies of Shale Oil and Gas Exploration and Development

Abstract

The status of shale gas exploration and development of various countries was described,the key technologies of its exploration and development were discussed.The major understandings were obtained,which included that①integrated with multiple parameters and information,the premise was to establish the evaluation criteria for different facies belt evaluation and method for favorable facies belt prediction.②The percolation model of shale gas presented a fea-ture of multiple scales,it involved three stages of desorption,diffusion and seepage in production.When a percolation equation was established,it was needed to consider adsorption model,diffusion model,fracture model and other factors in desorption.③New technologies such as the horizontal well drillings of multilateral wells,cluster wells,plume wellsvolume fracturing technology were the key factors of improving productivity and revenue of shale gas.④Borehole seismic technology could provide real-time fracturing azimuth,density,size,spacing and other parameters generated during the operation,describe the complexity of fractures and evaluate the effectiveness of stimulation.It provides reference for exploration and development of using horizontal wells.
