Abstract

Pine wilt disease caused by pine wood nematode [Bursaphelenchus xylophilus(Steiner Buhrer) Nickle] is a ruinous disease for pine, but the pathogenesis has not been quite clear so far.To this end 6 types of B.xylophilus and one type of B.mucronatus were used to test for pathogenicity to Pinus thunbergii. The result showed that the pathogenicity of Nematode 1 and 6 was strong but that of Nematode 2 and 5 was weak;and that of Nematode 3 and 4 was between. All the isolates of B.xylophilus can kill Pinus thunbergii, but B.mucronatus has not pathogenicity.
