A Textual Research on the Birthplace and Pedigree of Zhao Dingchen

Zhao Ding-chen,a literatus in the late period of Bei Song Dynasty,left behind after his death a literary work Zhu Yin Ji Shi Ji in twenty volumes,which is still read.He enjoyed high fame during his lifetime,but little known after his decease.Si Ku Quan Shu appraises highly Zhao Ding-chen's achievement in poems and songs and other literary works,but fails to mention his native place and his origin of descent.This article utilizes the firsthand information about Zhao Ding-chen's poems and songs and literary works to probe into his life and clarify and redress the mistakes made of him in the previous documents and literature.
