Abstract

Freud,the great psychologist,points out that totem is a substitute of the father in his Totem and Taboo.Like those primitive ancestors holding delicate attitude to their totem,sons always hold ambivalent attitude to their fathers.By using this theory,this paper analyzes Nick Adams' ambivalence to his father.
