Current Status, Cause Analysis and Countermeasures of Road Traffic Safety in China

Traffic accident has become one of social disasters threatening the security of people's life and property. Based huge amount of statistical data, developing trend and main causation of road traffic and traffic accidents in China were analyzed. In order to realize traffic safety, man-oriented principle should be taken into account. The vehicle and road conditions should be improved step by step. Furthermore, the legislation and implementation of relevant regulations should be reinforced. Either soft or hard traffic conditions should be improved in whole society, by which reduction of traffic accidents might be expected.
