Abstract
Although the film photography used for weld detection of spirally welded pipes exhibited its high sensitivity and resolution, its detection efficiency was low,cost high,and its was inconvenient to file the films.As for the method of image enhancement for welt detection,it had low sensitivity and resolution with high efficiency,though.Thus,a set of new weld detection facility of spiral welded pipe end was designed,where the technique of line scanning digital imaging was used to perform X-ray detection.Its sensitivity and resolution were superior to those of the image enhancer and its detection result reached as high level as the film photography,so that made up the defect with the foregoing two detection methods,reduced its cost,and realized a kind of digitized detection without damage of detected objects.VC++ was used for the programming of system software,so the functions such as image noise reduction,weld extraction,and defect identification could be implemented.
