Abstract
In Hainan Island there are many archaeological cultural vestiges,which show that human activities lay there during the remote ancient time.According to documents about activities of branches of Baiyue nationality,it is known that ancestors of Li people were the first inhabitants in Hainan Island,and they had relations with the ancient Baiyue people.While central imperial courts strengthened reign there and other ethnic immigrants came up the island,the ethnic culture of Li people got new development.
