Abstract

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary corn distillers dried grains with solubles(DDGS) on growth performance, antioxidant capacity and immunity of broilers at 21 days of age. A total of 300 one-day-old Cobb500 broilers were randomly assigned to 2 groups, and each group was allotted to6 replicates with 25 chickens in each replicate. The control group was fed a corn-soybean meal basal diet, and the trial group was fed the diet with 15% corn DDGS. The experiment lasted for 21 d. The results show ed as follows: compared with the control group, the growth performance of trial group was not significantly different(P 0.05); the superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) in serum and the SOD activity in liver of trial group were significantly decreased(P 0.05),how ever, the malondialdehyde(M DA) content in serum was significantly increased(P 0.05); the spleen index, thymus index and bursa of Fabricius index of trial group were not significantly different(P 0.05); the interleukin-6(IL-6)and interferon-γ(IFN-γ) contents in serum of trial group were significantly increased(P 0.05),but interleukin-10(IL-10) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) contents were not significantly different(P 0.05);the immunoglobulin A(IgA) and immunoglobulin G(IgG) contents in serum of trial group were significantly increased(P 0.05). The results suggest that 15% corn DDGS can modulate the immunity, but reduce the antioxidant capacity of broilers.
