Abstract
The research worked on the Se content of paddy soil and effect on the Se content of rice in Kaiying county. The results showed, the water soluble Se of paddy soil in Kaiyang region resulting from the high contents of the total Se of paddy soil was above critical value(0.01 ug g~(-1)). It was significantly related to parent material and geomorphological factors etc. The ab sorption of Se by rice was improved by high water soluble Se of paddy soil, resulting in the in crease of rice Se increase in this region. The average of rice grain Se was higher than the normal food Se contents(0.04-(0.07g g)~(-1)). The above-ground organs in rice contained different amounts of Se: the Se contents in the bran and the straw were higher than those of rice grain, and the correlation between Se in rice grain and paddy soil was significant ((r=0.7861~*), P0.05).
