Abstract
By quasi-static test and finite element ALGOR program, the experimental researc h and non-linear finite element analysis are made under low-cycle repeating ho rizontal load. The damage form and mechanical performance are studied. The results of analysis indicate that the flange weakening type rigid connection has bigger c onnection rigid and better behavior of absorbing earthquake energy. The welding sew stress of beam-flange is the major factor which decides the behavior of f lange weakening type rigid joint, and the connection between web of beam and fla nge of column has less impact on strength of connection joint under the conditio n of reasonable design. These results provide theoretical basis of study and app lication of flange weakening type connection joint.
