Abstract
Pine wilt disease is destructive to forests.B.xylophilus has different characteristics in morphology in different areas. In this paper, three strains of B.xylophilus, collected from Hunan and Guangdong, were observed and compared by SEM.The result shows that the characteristics of head and tail of the three strains had no obvious differences;that the lip regions of both their larva and adult were constricted and on observation of B.xylophilus' stylet, its end was an inclined plane;and that he bursa of adult male presented the shape M.These characteristics of B.xylophilus were described for the first time, which would provide a significant basis for the morphologic studies of B.xylophilus.
