The paper discussed the term evolution in English and their intension of “Ecological Restoration (in Chinese)”, the conceptual formation of Restoration Ecology, its development and the main research contents; probed into the characteristics of ecological restoration practices in China; quantitatively analyzed the correlation between the disturbed scale, intensity of ecological system and the restoration time.
