Resection and reconstruction of superior mesenteric vein /portal vein in pancreaticoduodenectomy

Surgical treatments of pancreatic cancer have been improved greatly in the recent century. For a long time,vascular invasion of tumor was contraindicated for surgery. With the development of surgical skills and principles,patients with tumor invasion of the superior the mesenteric vein/the portal vein could be treated by combined resection and reconstruction of the superior mesenteric vein/the portal vein by pancreaticoduodenectomy,which greatly improved the resection rate and the 5-year survival rate. A reasonable surgical option could significantly improve the clinical outcome of the patients.
