Observation on the Flower Bud Morphological Differentiation of Sweet Cherry

[Objective] The purpose was to learn about the flower bud morphological differentiation law of sweet cherry so as to provide basis for its production and management in Zunyi.[Method] With 7 years old Hongdeng,Dazi,Meizao and rootstocks ZY-1 in fruiting stage as tested materials,the flower buds of sweet cherry in Zunyi were observed under microscope by paraffin sectioning method.[Result] The period from the beginning of flower bud differentiation to the completion of pistil primordium differentiation was about 80 d.The morphological defferentiation of sweet cherry began in middle and late May,the inflorescence primordium differentiation began in the period from late May to the beginning of Jun.and did not complete till the end of Jun.or early Jul..The intervals among the generations of sepal primordium,petal primordium and stamen primordium were not long.The sepal primordium defferentiation began in midle and late Jun.The petal perimordium differentiation began in the period from the end of Jun.to early Jul..The stamen primordium differentiation began in early and middle Jul.The pistil primordium differentiation began in early and middle Jul.and most of pistil primordia finished differentiation in the end of Aug..Jul.and Aug.was the key period for the flower bud morphological differentiation of sweet cherry.[Conclusion] The flower bud morphological differentiation of sweet cherry began in late May and was mainly in Jul.～Sep..
