Abstract

[Objective]The aim of the research was to discuss the practicality of swine artificial insemination technology.[Method]The production indexes such as sow estrus pregnancy rate, the delivery rate of conceived sows and the average number of live piglets per litter were determined and the production effects of 2 kinds of mating ways of natural mating and artificial insemination were compared.[Result]For 323 sows mated by artificial insemination, the sow estrus pregnancy rate was 84.2%,the delivery rate of conceived sows was 90.8% and the average number of live piglets per litter was 10.3 heads. For 156 sows mated by natural mating in control group, the sow estrus pregnancy rate was 82.7%,the delivery rate of conceived sows was 91.0% and the average number of live piglets per litter was 10.2 heads. The production effects of 2 kinds of mating ways had no obvious difference.[Conclusion]The production level of artificial insemination technology has been reached or exceeded the level of natural mating in pig farms.
