Abstract
The 6 kV working busbar 2MCA of Unit 2 in Shenzhen Mawan General Power Plant experienced virtual earthing while being put into operation and switching off the LV working transformer 42T A respectively. It is concluded upon analysis that the virtual earthing was caused by the power frequency resonance between the inductance coil of the voltage transformer and the busbar-to-ground capacitance, which led to neutral displacement and the unsymmetrical three phase-to-ground voltages, and in turn gave rise to zero-sequence voltage Finally, suggestions for eliminating the resonance are put forth in this paper.
