Fibromatosis-like spindle cell carcinoma of breast

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinicopathological features of fibromatosis-like spindle cell carcinoma in the breast. Methods Three cases of fibromatosis-like spindle cell carcinoma of the breast were observed by light microscopy and immunohistochemical technique. Results All cases were composed of fibromatosis-like spindle cells, and expressed AE1/AE3, vimentin and SMA. Conclusions The fibromatosis-like spindle cell carcinoma of the breast is easy to be misdiagnosed. It should be distinguished from fibromatosis, nodal fascitis and low-grade spindle cell sarcoma.
