Abstract

Objective: To investigate the role of hospital information system(HIS) in infectious disease reporting and monitoring. Methods: Infectious disease management information platform was established by using the hospital's existing HIS system, for infectious disease reporting, auditing, statistics, monitoring, etc. Then the evaluation indexes of the quality management of infectious diseases before and after 1 year were compared and analysed. Results: The efficiency and quality of management of infectious diseases in 2010 was significantly improved by 2009.The differences of cases reported, the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of reports cards were statistically significant compared with the information system before(P0.05).Conclusion: It is important to strengthen the hospital information technology for improving the management of infectious diseases.
