Abstract
In recent years, magnetic fabric of deformed rocks, metamorphic rocks andsedimentary rocks are discussed in great detail. However, the knowledge aboutcharacteristic and mechanism of magnetic fabric of igneous rocks is very poor. Thestudy is a model experiment on magnetic fabric of igneous rocks. Although it iscommonly suggested that the maximum axis of magnetic susceptibility ellipsoidparallels to the flow direction of magma. mis stUdy proves that it is not the commoncase. In contrast it only occurs when the magma flow is strong enough and the rockis undeformed. The magnetic fabric of igneous rock is resulted from the combinedeffects of the factors such as magnetic force, gravity and magma flow.
