A summarization of the transportation congestion pricing in the main cities of the world

Abstract

Road congestion pricing is an effective measure to alleviate urban transportation congestion. Road congestion pricing scheme was successfully implemented in Singapore since 1970s, and now more than 10 cities over the world have adopted road congestion pricing policy. This paper briefly reviews the practices of road congestion pricing system over the world and tries to provide theoretical supports and practical references to road congestion pricing in China.
