Hedgehog pathway in human hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract
Hedgehog pathway plays a critical role in the embryonic development of mammals,the mutational activation of the hedgehog signaling pathway is associated with tumorigenesis.Many researches show that the abnormal activation of the hedgehog signaling pathway is the important mechanism of the early development,degree of malignancy,invasion and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma.Study of hedgehog pathway may provide novel approach for early diagnosis and treatment of human hepatocellular carcinomas.
