The popularization and application for detection and classification of hazardous chemicals, will have a positive influence on improving the scientific, standardization and international trade of safety management of hazardous chemicals. Based on the experience related to detection and classification work of hazardous chemicals, the situation, major existing problems and relevant solutions for detection and classification of hazardous chemicals are discussed in the paper.
