Abstract
Objective:To study the chemical constituents of the underground parts of Gynura segetum(Lour.)Merr..Method:Repeated column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 compounds were used for isolation of chemical constituents of this plant.Structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral analysis and comparison with literature data. Results: Eleven compounds were isolated and identified as β-sitosterol(1),senecionine(2),seneciphylline(3),E-seneciphylline(4),seneciphyllic acid(5),adenosine(6),uridine(7),hyperoside(8),quercetin(9),amber acid(10),daucosterol(11).Conclusion: Compounds 5~9 and 11 have been isolated from this plant for the first time.
