Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of spinal canal tumor by mini-invasive operation. Methods A total of 14 patients whose extramedullary tumors were mainly located in one side of the spinal canal with their longest diameters no more than 3 cm were operated by mini-invasive microsurgical techenique.Results The tumors were totally removed in all 14 cases. With less bleeding and no postoperative complications. The patients could get up 1~3 days after operation and recovered faster compared with conventional laminectomy. ConclusionMini-invasive operations combined with microsurgical techniques should be given priority over standard laminectomy in the surgical management of extramedullary lesions arising in the spinal canal.
